Ficus Shiveriana 4"

Ficus Shivereana is a rare plant, a hybrid of the Ficus Elastica. It requires bright, indirect sunlight to thrive, but will tolerate some low light conditions.  However, low light will cause leaves to fall or discolour. Ideally, placing your plant in a south facing window should keep it healthy and happy.

Temperatures should be maintained between 15°C and 25°C, however this plant will tolerate minor fluctuations in temperature. 

Ficus Shivereana likes 50% humidity or more - but will not suffer too much if humidity levels drop.

Allow the plant's soil to dry between watering.  Be sure to water thoroughly, allowing the water to completely drain.  Do not allow plant to sit in water as this will promote root rot.

Its soil should fertile, full of organic material - addition of perlite or vermiculite to the potting soil will help maintain moisture levels and allow for aeration. 

Fertilize your plant every 2 to 3 weeks during the spring and summer.  Reduce water and discontinue fertilization during the dormancy period (winter).

This plant is toxic to both humans and pets, so keep it out of reach from curious pets and children.
